Charity Work

Careful stewardship of The Company finances has resulted in our ability to support many charities throughout the UK.

The members of the Charity, Fundraising and Events Committee are:

The Master's chosen charity for the year 2009 - 2010 is The Melanoma Foundation. Malignant Melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancer. The incidence is increasing dramatically in the UK, by 2010 1 in 75 people will develop the disease. It is the second commonest cause of death from cancer in the 15-30 year age group. Increasing understanding of the problem will improve survival.

The Royal School of Needlework located at Hampton Court Palace receives an annual bursary and there is a prize for the best apprentice work each year in gold and silver wire.

The Guildhall School of Music and Drama located at the Barbican Centre within the City. The Company gives an annual bursary to a post-graduate opera singer.
